Workshops and Presentations for Communities and Organizations

We offer workshops and presentations by invitation for organizations, schools, community groups, and professional associations.

Among various topics, these sessions support individuals in managing burnout, building emotional resilience, and establishing healthy boundaries across both personal and professional spheres. Each offering integrates practical strategies rooted in mind-body awareness, helping participants deepen their self-understanding and feel more grounded in daily life, with an emphasis on alignment with one’s inner values and needs.
Past presentations have included events hosted by the National Association of Professional Women and a LGBTQ+ conference. Participants leave with practical tools to foster self-care, emotional balance, and a stronger connection to themselves.

Trainings for Professionals on Trauma-Informed Practices

We offer customized trainings for medical professionals, educators, and others working with vulnerable populations who want to deepen their understanding of trauma and its impact.

These sessions emphasize trauma-informed principles such as safety, choice, and attunement—translating them into practical skills that can be applied in fast-paced, high-pressure settings. Participants learn how to recognize trauma responses, support emotional regulation, and respond with intention while maintaining professional boundaries. Whether in hospitals, classrooms, or community settings, this training supports more effective interactions and improves professionals’ ability to meet the needs of those they serve.

Trainings for Therapists-in-Training

We offer interactive trainings for graduate programs and organizations that support emerging therapists.

Drawing on many years of supervisory experience, these sessions support future clinicians in developing an authentic therapeutic presence rooted in emotional attunement, embodied awareness, and an ongoing curiosity about one’s own experience. Past themes included topics such as “your story, your strength,” inviting trainees to explore how their lived experiences were a foundation for meaningful, ethical, and relationally grounded clinical work. Additional topics focus on somatic approaches and trauma-informed principles, enriching traditional clinical education. These sessions complement graduate education by focusing on the relational and somatic dimensions of therapeutic work, helping trainees approach their clinical practice with greater confidence and clarity.

  • Having participated in Katya’s Tango Workshop, I was able to experience the benefits that this kind of embodied work can provide. The movement exercises were a provocative entryway into the mind/body connection. They revealed the ways in which the body holds psychological distress. Along with her keen intelligence and sensitivity, Katya uses this body awareness to help heal psychological wounds bringing to her clients increased relaxation, peace, and well-being.”

    — Marie Keller, PhD, LMFT, Former Director of LA Gender Center

  • "I recently invited Katya to speak to my class of clinical therapy students, and her presentation exemplified exactly what emerging therapists need to witness. Her masterful integration of clinical expertise with personal narrative demonstrated to students how the personal and professional inevitably intersect in therapeutic work. By sharing her own journey alongside clinical insights, she showed our future therapists the importance of embracing their growth edges and recognizing how ongoing self-awareness shapes sound, ethical practice. The students were deeply engaged, seeing in Katya's presentation a model of the authentic, self-aware clinician they aspire to become"

  • After feeling overwhelmed that I didn’t know which theory or modality I wanted to move forward with, Katya came into our class with a perspective I hadn’t considered before - that all I needed to do was trust myself and focus on finding my own authentic way through this career, and the rest would fall into place. Katya shared her unique life experiences that she weaves into her therapy career, from her cultural and spiritual background, to her love of Tango - inspiring me to think about the unique elements of my own life that I could bring forward to be a better clinician. She brought humor, genuineness, intelligence and kindness into our classroom that elevated the conversation about what our careers could look like. I would recommend Katya as a speaker for any therapist-in-training if you want an inspiring breath of fresh air as to how creative and unique the experience of becoming a therapist can be.
