Our Approach

Our approach is grounded in collaboration, curiosity, and care.

We create a welcoming space where therapists at all stages of their journey can explore clinical questions, inner processes, and the subtle dynamics that emerge in therapeutic work. Rooted in many years of clinical and supervisory experience, and guided by attuned perceptiveness, we help therapists see more clearly what’s happening in the room—both with their clients and within themselves.

While case consultations are often one-time or short-term, supervision—both for associates and licensed therapists—frequently becomes a long-term relationship that spans one to three years or more.

Supervision for Associates

We offer supervision for Associate Clinical Social Workers, Associate Marriage and Family Therapists, and Associate Professional Clinical Counselors, providing a space where you can grow into the kind of therapist only you can become.

We believe that who you are—your personal qualities, emotional insight, life experience, spiritual development—shapes the work you do. Supervision is not only about building clinical skills, but also about supporting your growth as a person. When you trust the process of therapy, your clients, and your own capacity to sense and respond, something powerful unfolds. We encourage associates to engage in long-term therapy, as lived experience becomes a vital source of understanding and integrity in your role as a therapist.

Supervision is offered with cultural humility and a respect for mutual learning. Your background and lived experience are seen as essential to the clinical process. We emphasize presence, depth, and somatic awareness—supporting you in attuning to your nervous system, internal responses, and embodied experience.

Our work draws on psychodynamic and attachment theories, polyvagal theory, mindfulness, experiential methods, and parts work, all considered in light of your values and clinical instincts.

We don’t require session recordings or transcripts. Instead, learning happens through presence, reflection, and honest dialogue. We also support you in developing practical skills for private practice—marketing ethically, conducting consultations, setting fees, and navigating administrative and legal considerations.

If you're interested in joining us, please reach out to schedule an interview to learn more about the process, including compensation, scheduling, and what it’s like to be part of this space.

Supervision for Licensed Therapists

Supervision doesn’t end when licensure begins. Even as seasoned clinicians, we continue to grow. Our supervision for licensed therapists offers a space for thoughtful reflection, further integration of clinical skills, and renewed connection to the heart of the work.

We approach supervision with cultural humility, somatic awareness, and a strong grounding in trauma-informed frameworks. Our supervision supports understanding of nervous system dynamics, somatic awareness, and the integration of parts within the therapeutic relationship. Whether you're navigating complex trauma presentations or refining your therapeutic presence, our work centers on what’s most alive in your practice, aiming to support your ongoing development while honoring the wisdom you already carry.

We also hold the view that the most sustainable clinical work happens when your professional path aligns with your own personal growth. Supervision is a space to reflect on that alignment and what it may be asking of you.

We draw from Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and parts work, structural dissociation and polyvagal theories, psychodynamic thinking and systems understanding, neuroscience and mindfulness-based practices—integrating these with your clinical intuition and values. We also offer a keen perceptiveness, helping bring to light subtle dynamics that shape clinical work in significant ways.

Supervision is ongoing, typically held virtually, and tailored to support your evolving clinical work and professional growth.

Case Consultations for Licensed Therapists

Sometimes, you just need another mind—and heart—in the room. Our case consultations offer space to reflect on a specific client, clinical dynamic, or stuck point—whether you're seeking clarity, grounding, or a new perspective.

We bring particular expertise in trauma and trauma-informed care. Consultations are guided by a strong foundation in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, structural dissociation theory, and advanced training with Janina Fisher, Ph.D.

Our broader clinical orientation draws from psychodynamic thinking and systems understanding, parts work and somatic awareness, polyvagal theory and neuroscience, and mindfulness-based practices. Our consultations are also supported by a capacity to sense what often remains just beneath the surface—tracking subtle dynamics and unspoken layers that may not yet be fully named.

You're welcome to bring questions related to case formulation, trauma dynamics, nervous system responses, or your own internal experience as a therapist.

Consultations are available as one-time meetings or a series of sessions, depending on your needs, and are typically held virtually.

  • "Katya is an exceptional clinical supervisor who embodies the principles she teaches. Her ability to hold space for supervisees mirrors the therapeutic environment she guides them to create with their own clients. She demonstrates remarkable skill in asking challenging yet supportive questions that promote professional growth. Her supervision style creates a dynamic learning environment where therapists can develop their clinical skills through both instruction and direct experience"

    — Supervisee 2018 - 2020

  • I feel very fortunate to have Katya as my supervisor. Her natural qualities of warmth, openness, and humor have done so much to create safety for me to share both my wins and struggles in our supervision sessions. I’ve particularly appreciated getting to learn from Katya’s wealth of experience in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy; she’s helped me become much more comfortable with slowing down and exploring somatic experience. I highly recommend Katya to other supervisees!

    — Tyler Hakomori, MS, AMFT

  • "Katya is the best “boss” I’ve ever had. It’s hard to think of her as a boss because I see her more as a mentor and safe landing place. Katya is warm, intelligent, attuned, perceptive, non-judgmental and hilarious—all great qualities in a clinical supervisor and therapist; however, words do not capture the profound impact her presence has had on my life and in my clinical work. Katya’s supervisory style places both supervisor and supervisee on the same level. I have always felt that my opinion was valued and honored and that Katya simply added her insight and experience to my thoughts. Additionally, Katya has a deep understanding of how to help clinicians feel calm and safe to do their work. Under Katya’s tutelage I have grown into a confident and humble clinician. I am so grateful to have her in my life professionally."

    — Julie Markowitz, LCSW, SEP

  • Katya’s skills as a clinician and as a supervisor are unmatched. Not only does she have tremendous expertise, but she is also uncommonly patient, nurturing, and perceptive. She provides both clear guidance and clinician autonomy, adeptly balancing risk management with trust in her supervisee’s developing abilities. As a result, she created the environment I so deeply needed as an early-career clinician—one that allowed me to meet steep challenges and experience major growth without the gratuitous fear or shame that too often characterizes supervisory relationships. My experience working with her was truly transformative and I cannot recommend her enough!
